Are clay masks suppose to burn your skin? After application I initially felt a tingling sensation and then after 3 minutes it started to sting and as time progressed the intensity increased so I took it off immediately. It felt like heating pain relief cream that you would use muscular pain. My face was left visibly red.

I had a look a the packaging and noticed menthol was a listed ingredient and wondered if this could be the cause or is it the clay itself.

Has anyone else have this issue?

That doesn't sound normal to me. A mask shouldn't burn your skin.

Do you have sensitive skin?

In the future, I'd suggest patch testing any new products before using them.

You're right, I should have selected an area of skin to patch test first. I don't think my skin is sensitive, I've never had many skin issues before.
