Salt Lamps

Has anyone here tried using salt lamps? Apparently its meant to purify the air.

Any experiences?

I've got one at home next to my bed. I wouldn't say that they completely "purify the air". They emit a warm and soft lighting that's relaxing compared to the ceiling one. More decorative.

They do. After 10 minutes my lamp is warm and sweating salt.

I find salt lamps messy leaving salt all over my bedside table. Since I have changed my globes over to LEDs this no longer happens. Happy to have it as a soft lamp only.
