Hey there,

I'm having this issue where my current jackets aren't warm enough. I need lightweight and cozy jackets for camping out in the sticks this winter.

I've read that hardshell is better than softshell for windy conditions but then softshell is breathable if I sweat. Should I have both on hand?

I would probably have both on hand so you can be extra prepared.

Wear the hardshell over the softshell during the middles of winter, and if you are too hot, just take the hardshell jacket off.
