Cufflinks are alright only if the outfit has style. With a bad outfit they're laughable.

I view cufflinks as formal wear, maybe too formal for everyday - however you can do what you want (obviously) and pair them with work shirts. There's no right or wrong there.

Cufflinks are smart casual when worn with the right shirts, but formal when matched with a suit and tie. However, wearing cufflinks without a tie to the office almost shows that you want to take yourself seriously, but at the same time don't.

In the office it’s a nonessential, viewed as pretentious, and shows a person too stylish to be concentrating on the job at hand.

I agree with Kumari. It's kind of hard to take a guy seriously with cufflinks at the office. That's when cufflinks are in the pretentious zone. Keep them for formal events.

I'm coming to realize this now.Seems everyone is saying it's uncool to wear formal accessories in an office(overdoing the smart casual vibe).
